The laser industry has developed in my country for more than 50 years, and has formed different types of technology applications with many disciplines, such as optoelectronic technology, laser medicine and biophotonics, laser processing technology, laser testing and metrology technology, laser holography technology, laser spectroscopy Analytical technology, nonlinear optics, ultrafast lasers, laser chemistry, quantum optics, lidar, laser guidance, laser isotope separation, laser controllable nuclear fusion, laser weapons, etc.
Lasers and their accessories occupies an important position in the entire industrial chain of the laser industry, and belong to an industry with strong technology. 1. Distribution of China's laser industry
Lasers in my country can be divided into five industrial belts, the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, the Central China Region, the Bohai Rim Region and the Northwest Region. These five industrial belts are different. Among them, the sales revenue of laser equipment is about 30 billion yuan, the laser processing service industry downstream of the industrial chain is about 35 billion yuan, and the laser products are about 45 billion yuan.
Among the four major industrial belts, Central China, especially Wuhan, is representative. Donghu High-tech Zone is a large laser industry base in my country, with a domestic market share of more than 50% for 11 consecutive years. High-power lasers, large-scale laser cutting equipment, large-scale laser welding equipment, laser precision micro-processing equipment, laser medical equipment, laser image anti-counterfeiting products And other domestic front-end, laser chain processing, laser processing, laser medical and other application services have developed rapidly. 2. China's laser import and export status
The laser processing industry is widespread in the domestic market. China is a big manufacturing country, and domestic processing equipment will be gradually upgraded, and the laser equipment industry will develop more rapidly. In particular, the development of the automotive, semiconductor and electronic manufacturing industries gives China's laser market potential.
There have been many R&D institutions and enterprises engaged in the development, production and operation of lasers and laser processing equipment in China. There are rarely more than 5 laser technology research laboratories and more than 10 product research and development institutions. There are more than 100 manufacturing companies engaged in laser processing, some of which are established by the Laser Technology Application Research Institute, and others are emerging privately owned private laser companies, mainly located in Wuhan, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Beijing, Xi'an and other provinces City. These companies have become the main force in the domestic laser processing market. The industrial lasers, components and laser processing systems they manufacture (laser marking, scribing, fine-tuning, cutting, welding, surface treatment, micro-processing, direct molding) account for about the total domestic market More than 90% share.
China's laser processing equipment market has maintained steady growth since 2006. At that time, it grew from 399 million US dollars to an estimated 2.2 billion US dollars this year. There have also been some twists and turns. In 2009, the growth was relatively slow, only 740 million U.S. dollars, and it developed rapidly in the following four years.
In the past three years, the average import of laser systems has reached US$800 million, but has gradually decreased in the past two years. This shows that China’s laser systems have been partially self-sufficient, but the domestic market is still dominated by foreign companies.
From 2003 to the present, my country's laser equipment exports have continued to maintain a growth momentum, mainly exported to Hong Kong, South Korea, India and other countries and regions. The total export value in 2007 has exceeded 460 million yuan, an increase of 84% year-on-year. In 2010, exports were 98 million U.S. dollars, compared with 134 million U.S. dollars in 2011 and as high as 202 million U.S. dollars in 2012.
In terms of laser types, Chinese companies purchase mostly low-power CO2 laser sources (10-60W, 15,000 units), medium and high-power CO2 lasers (100W to kilowatts, 2300 units), and low-power fiber lasers (<50W, 13000 sets), high-power fiber lasers (>1KW, 300 sets), and DPSSL system (6000 sets).
3. China's laser medical industry
In the field of laser medical equipment, the United States, Europe, Israel and Japan have traditionally occupied the global position temporarily. Especially in the United States, its laser medical equipment is not only widely used, but also exported to overseas markets in large quantities, bringing considerable sales revenue to the United States every year. The total sales of the top 25 medical device companies accounted for 60% of the total global medical device sales. In 2008, 16 of the world's top 20 medical device companies were in the United States. The overall sales revenue of the US medical device industry accounts for up to 50% of the world, followed by Europe and the United States, accounting for 22%, Japan accounting for about 20%, China accounting for about 2.90%, and other countries and regions accounting for a total of 5%. High-power lasers used for material processing above 500 watts are dominated by Germany, while low-power semiconductor lasers are dominated by Japan, accounting for more than 70% of the global market.
According to statistics from the European Commission for Medical Devices, the total global medical device market sales have risen rapidly from US$187 billion in 2001 to US$355.3 billion in 2009, and have maintained a strong increase at a double-digit growth rate. The global medical device market demand growth rate is much higher than the global GDP growth rate, and the medical device market is developing rapidly relative to the overall global economy. Taking lasers in the dental field as an example, it is reported that at least 80% of the 200,000 dentists in the United States often use CO2 laser equipment. Therefore, the market for dental lasers is vast, with a potential market of more than one billion US dollars.
Domestic laser medical equipment sells up to 20%-30% of domestic lasers. Its production areas are mainly distributed in the provinces and cities of Guangdong, Hubei, Beijing, Jiangsu and Shanghai. Among them, the "Wuhan China Guangu", which is dominated by optical communications and laser industries, has more than 300 optoelectronic companies, showing a strong momentum of development in the production of medical lasers. However, Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan have promoted the introduction and development of medical laser technology due to their special geographical locations.
In recent years, the demand for laser equipment in hospitals and large-scale beauty chain stores in Guangdong Province has increased significantly, which has led to rapid growth of its medical laser companies. However, as far as medical laser companies are concerned, their medical laser industry is still developing. In addition, Xi'an, Shaanxi, Chengdu, Sichuan, relying on the industrialization of scientific research institutes, many laser companies have emerged. As my country's old optical industrial base, Changchun, although there are some enterprises engaged in the research and development and production of laser medical industry, many enterprises have not yet formed a large scale due to regional problems.

At present, it has become one of the largest medical laser equipment production bases in China (also in Asia). Due to the rapid popularization of laser technology in my country in recent years and the increase in investment in medical infrastructure, the laser medical equipment market in my country has grown rapidly after 2010. New market research data shows that in 2010, my country's laser medical equipment market was 2.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%. In terms of instrument types, in addition to the market share of more than 57% of the market share of laser surgery and treatment equipment, the market share of laser beauty equipment and laser diagnostic analysis equipment has increased over 2009, respectively 23.2% and 9.6%.
